Thank You Notes

I do hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and if you are out celebrating tomorrow night be careful and don't get too drunk. In any event, Happy New Year to you all.

As a child I was terrible at writing thank you noted after Christmas. Despite being bought numerous stationery sets the letters never actually made it to the post box. So, as a mother I always make sure that my boys send their thank you notes. As a crafter, I love to make them.

I made the following using the Jungle theme plates again, specifically Monkeying Around. Well, I have 2 monkeys of my own..........

I couldn't decide whether to colour them in Promarkers (left) or Twinks (right), so I did one of each and put it to the family vote. Here they are side by side. The boys decided that the Twinks looked better, so the rest were coloured that way.

Ju's Un-Birthday!

I've not been on for a while. Bad blogger, lol! I haven't really done much crafting over the last week and spent some quality family time.

However, my friend Ju has decided that she's old enough and is now going to start having un-birthdays. I made this card for her as a bit of fun.

Sorry about the lighting on this one. I used stamps from the Creative Expressions Jungle Friends plates and coloured them with Twinkling H20's. The background, which you can hardly see, lol, was using the Joseph's coat technique. I stamped the leaves with a Versamark pad and embossed with clear powder. I then took a Distressed Ink Pad in Walnut Stain and wiped it over, buffing when dry. The paper was such a dark patterned green, you can barely see it.

Christmas Presents

I wanted to give the children that Kieran goes to the childminder with a little something for Christmas. I got this idea from a demonstration on Create and Craft. I bought some inexpensive tree chocolates and repackaged a selection into A6 card bags. I then printed off some Christmas background paper and cut it into 4x4" pieces. I folded them in half and attached them to the tops of the bags and added a personal greeting. I'm really pleased with how they turned out.

My Boss's Birthday

My boss's birthday is a couple of days before Christmas. I made this card using a topper from Joanna Sheen's Messy Rabbit CD. I printed it off a few times and created my own decoupage. I'm sure he will appreciate this as he has been known to spend an hour or two at the Pub, lol.

Last of the Christmas

Here are the last of the Christmas cards for 2009 that I am going to share with you.

This one is the one I made for my hubby off our 2 boys. It uses an image from one of the MCS CDs. It has been sat on the table since July ish waiting to be cut and stuck. It wasn't til I was cutting it out a couple of weeks ago that I realised that the little bear is holding a a blue teddy. Our youngest son's bit of comfort is a blue ted.

This card is for Lewis from his little brother. However, his little brother likes it more than he does, lol. Kieran is car mad at 22 months old!

New Swaps

I needed to make an ATC themed 'Taking Care'. I really wasn't sure which way to go with this, so I dug out one of my Bear-i-ation theme plates and used the Nurse's uniform on one of the bears. It was the first time I had used this particular set and was really pleased with the results. I coloured the image with Promarkers.

The theme for November's Inspiration Card Swap group swap was 'Tea For Two'. I REALLY struggled with this one but decided that these two ladies from the Lilac Lemon Designs Art Deco plate were having Iced Tea.......are you convinced..............................?lol.

And yet more Christmas.....

As promised I am going to bore you with some of my favourite Christmas cards.

This is such a simple card but I love the effect of the gold embossing powder on the mink pearl card. Both the flourish and the greeting are from the Flourish Snowman Inkadinkado set.

Even simpler still......I repeat stamped this tree using a Whispers brush pen (not sure what the colour is meant to be) and used the same pen for the message. I then scribbled over the trees with a Quickie Glue pen and glittered. Such a pretty display.

Last one for tonight. I stamped, coloured and cut a lot of the wee meeces and friends from the Winter Tales collection over several nights. I love this card......clean and crisp.

Happy Birthday Maria

I've not been on for a while due to Christmas crafting. I'll try and upload a few of the cards I have made shortly. I am glad that most of my Christmas crafting is over and I can start crafting for pleasure.

It's my online Pal, Maria's birthday tomorrow and I made this card for her using one of the Lilac Lemon Designs Art Deco ladies and the new Sophistication board from The Glitter Girls. Not sure if I like the peel off effect, but am pleased with the card in general.

More Christmas Cards

I'm really starting to get into this blogging lark, lol.

Anyway, more Christmas cards. Two are coloured with Promarker pens and thanks to my trip to the NEC I got some Nesties at a steal. Unfortunately 3 sets are being put away for Christmas so you will see loads of cards before then using the same Labels set........sorry!

The first card was a free Daisy and Dandelion stamp with a DoCrafts mag a couple of months ago. I used a backing paper from one of the MCS CDs. The greeting is from a Cute Companions stamp set.

This card is an Elzybells stamp and greeting, the backing paper is from a CD but one I had left over from last year so I have no idea which one.

The final card is my first attempt with Distress Ink pads. I used Faded Jeans and blended it round the edge using Cut n Dry. I then stamped around the edge with an Inkadinkado stamp from the Filigree Snowman set using a Versamark ink pad and dusted the image with Perfect Pearls. I overstamped the corners and the the Filigree Snoman in the middle with Faded Jeans. Not sure if I like this. Comments please..............

Bling!!

Well, I'm not going to have anything to upload for a couple of days as I will be at the NEC on Thursday so no crafting to be done then while the little one is asleep. Maybe if I get some done tomorrow afternoon when I get back from work.

So, these are 2 of the ATCs that I made for a Bling swap. I have used one of the stamps from my new release and glittered the feathers with Art Institute ultra fine glitter. I added a few gems for added bling. They are both coloured with my Promarker pens.

Elzybells Christmas

The following 2 cards have been made using Elzybells stamps. I bought, stamped, and coloured them using Promarker pens a couple of months ago but have only just got round to mounting them up. I have a few more stamped and coloured and will be getting them onto cards soon.

This image is matted onto some purple holographic card and I used the same holographic as the base matt on the card itself. The snowflakes are printed from the Winter Tales CD. The finishing greeting is from Elzybells.

This card is stamped with some Cute Companions snowflakes using white Stazon. I dotted some crystal glitter glue in the centres for some added bling. The red card itself has a small silver fleck in it which inspired me to get my Moonshadow Misters from Lindy's Stamp Gang out to add a little something. As I have said before I don't have any Nesties so I used my premade template to create the shaped layers. I am into sqaure cards at the moment and just love this shape. The greeting is also from Elzybells.

Cute Companion Christmas

I have made this card for my youngest son for Christmas. I know Santa has 8 Reindeer but I couldn't fit 8 on, although I had stamped, coloured and cut 8 out! I used the Cute Companions Winter Tales CD for the village and just repeated the scene across the sheet until it was full. I am soooooo proud of this card, just need to figure out where to put the greeting.......................

Papercreator

I am honoured to be on the Design Team for Papercreator. Debbie makes the most wonderful decoupage, pyramid, twister pyramid and invertage sheets. Here are 2 of the cards I have made using the sheets sent to me.

The sheets used are In The Part at Christmas and Spring Blossom teardrop with associated backing papers.

Happy Birthday Janice!!!

It's my online pal, Janice's birthday on Monday so I made this card using some pre-bought flittered Art Deco cards and decorated with one of my beautiful Art Deco lady stamps. She is coloured using Promarker pens and highlighted with a clear Sakura stardust pen.

Christmas Cards

I have been busy making Christmas cards for a few weeks now and wanted to share some of the ones I have made with the Cute Companions Winter Tales stamps.

I was quite pleased with this card until I put the 'floor' in. Now it looks like someone has wiped doggy poop across the middle of my card.

I love this nativity scene. By repeat stamping the little meeces I got 3 kings and 3 shepherds. Aren't they cute!

I have made a few of these snow globe and bauble cards for the children at the childminder that Kieran goes to. This one is for 2 sisters. I made cards with either a snow globe or a bauble for the children with no brothers or sisters.

Well it was 2 of my online friends' birthdays this week, so I used the same stamps and made 2 variations of the same card.

Alcohol Marker Swap

Well, I had to make 3 cards for an Alcohol Marker swap. I used my newly bought Promarkers and coloured a dragon, Tilda and Popcorn. Here are the results. The dragon is my favourite.
The backing paper on this one wa taken from a free CD that I had with a magazine. I love the shape that the Nestabilities make but I don't have a set. So I found this template in a magazine and scanned it into my computer. From there I made 3 sizes of it. There was quite a big difference in the sizes so I just trimmed slightly larger to get a layer.

The backing paper for Popcorn was taken from the Popcorn Floral CD. I tried a slightly different method of matting and layer using a strip of card the same colour of the base card and edging it with some scalloped scissors.

Tilda was mounted onto some paper from my stash and the corners trimmed with a Fiskars corner punch. I rounded the corners on the mirri board. The 'Just for You' is a Letraset rub on.

Busy, busy, busy......

The parents of one of my youngest son's friends are getting married this weekend. I made the following card with the Forever Friends wedding stamp and yes, coloured it with Promarkers..........gotta get my money's worth, lol. You can't see it very well from this scan but I have stamped a wee flourish stamp with a Galaxy Gold Brilliance ink pad on the brown card, just to give it a little 'something'.

Birthday Cards

So, next week is a busy week with 3 birthdays all on the same day!

The first card is for my son, Lewis off his brother. It's Popcorn Bear and Sofflé fishing. Stamped with a black versafine ink pad and coloured with Promarkers.

The next card is for my niece. Again, Popcorn Bear on a present. Stamped and coloured as above.

These are my first endeavours with Promarkers.....I'm sure I'll get better!

New Cards

Hi Guys. It's been a while but I finally got round to updating my blog. Here are 3 cards I made recently. The first is a card for my hubby's niece using a Penny Black stamp and simply coloured with water colour pencils.

The next is a set of ATCs I made for a "cute" swap. They are Tilda and Forever Friends stamps.

And finally for now, is a New Home card I made for my online pal, Anesha. Simple but I really like the stamp!

There are still a few I need to download from my camera and I have some new stamps to play with so watch this space..............

Mother's Day

Here is the 'card' that I have made for my mom this year. I say 'card' as it's actually a word book. This is the front view (obviously). It has a 3D flower fairy on the front from the Crafter's Companion CD and the pages are made from the Funky Daze CD. I then mounted them onto gold mirri and cut round them........what a faff! I sparkled her wings and some of the petals with some iridescent glitter glue.

Page 2 has the first half of the verse on and a few sparkly peel off butterflies stuck onto acetate and cut out.
The final page has the remainder of the verse and a rose also from the CC CD.

The only thing I would change IF I did another, would be the verse. It needs to be bigger (and straighter as my hubby pointed out) as it looks a bit lost.
Hope you like it. xx

Thursday, 12 March 2009

Apologies for the quality of this photo. I made this for our good friend's niece's birth. The stamp is one from Lilac Lemon Designs and the backing is printed onto pale pink pearlescent card from a Joanna Sheen CD, The oval is a Keepsake board shape. I was having trouble finding the right pink for rocking horse, so I used a Briliance inkpad (orchid, I think) and then a very pale pink two tone moonglow embossing powder from Lindy's Stamp Gang.

No new stuff!

Well, I spent the whole of yesterday (and I do mean the whole of yesterday) making mother's day cards, anniversary cards and gold cards for a swap. Of course, none of them have been scanned in order for me to upload them here.....yet!! Came down out of the loft and hubby looked at me like I had grown another head. It's taken the kids 24hrs to remember who I am, lmao! I'll upload them later in the week.

Kieran's Birthday

I was so blessed to spend my 32nd birthday in hospital giving birth to my second son, Kieran. Here are the 2 birthday cards that we gave to him for his first birthday.

I made this card for a completely unrelated project but Lewis loved it so much he wanted to send it to Kieran for his birthday. Who was I to deny him....especially when it saved me making another, lol.

This one is called a stubby diamond. I made it using the Rag Doll Boy stamp from the Sheena Douglass Bear-i-ations collection. I love these stamps, there is such a variety of clothing options including the Beatles and Elvis!!!!

Card for Mom

I made this card for my mom for her birthday in January. It's using 2 of my favourite stamps from my Art Nouveau collection and is simply watercoloured using pencils. The gold layering has been done using the Keepsake majestic board.
Hi and welcome to my blog. Bear with me, this is my first attempt. I'll get the hang of it......... I'm sure.
